Born from Italian mother and Belgian father, Laurent Kubla holds an Economics and Management Master degree at the Solvay Business School in Brussels.
He began his vocal studies with Italian tenor Carlo Bergonzi, and Italian bass Bonaldo Giaoitti. At the age of 27, Laurent Kubla met Italian baritone Enzo Sordello, with whom he continued to develop his vocal technique until the Maestro passed away in 2008. He then pursed his studies with Belgian bass-baritone Nicolas Christou. Today, Laurent Kubla continues to study with Alessandra Rossi and Bruno de Simone who introduced him to the Rossini repertoire.
Laurent Kubla made his first steps on stage with the Opera Studio of the Flemish Opera. In 2010, he made his professional debut singing Schaunard in La Bohème at the Opera Royal de Wallonie. Today, he is regularly singing in Belgium and on the international scenes.
Current and future engegemnts include Sagrestano in Tosca and Gouverneur in Le Comte Ory with Opéra Royal de Wallonie Liège.
In past the seasons he sang as Escamillo in Carmen with Teatro delle Muse in Ancona and Opéra de Liège, and as Gil Perez in Auber's Le domino noir with Opéra de Liège and Opéra Conique in Paris.
Since his debuts in 2010, Laurent Kubla has sung more than 20 leading roles, among the other: Leporello in Don Giovanni, Conte Almaviva and Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro, Don Basilio in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Belcore in L'elisir d'amore, Four Villains in Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Alidoro in La Cenerentola and Mustafa in L'Italiana in Algeri.
Laurent Kubla recorded a CD of French and English melodies with pianist Patrick Leterme, as well as a Bluray disc of La Gazzetta - Rossini, with an exceptional casting including Uruguan tenor Edgardo Rocha, Italian soprano Cinzia Forte and Italian baritone Enrico Marabelli.
