QiangMing Dou began his 2017/18 season, after a successful performance in the role of Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Municipale di Piacenza (half scenic) in collaboration with "Gli Amici della Musica di Piacenza", at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino performing as Marchese in La Traviata under the baton of John Axelrod and directed by Alfredo Corno, and as Morales in Carmen conducted by Ryan McAdams and directed by Leo Muscato. Again, in Florence he sings as Escamillo in Carmen and Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia (both productions for the schools).  

In September 2018 he gives his debut in Pafos again in the role of Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia.

Born in Shangai in 1991, QiangMing Dou graduated at the age of 24 form the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Ukraine.

After moving to Italy, he enrolled in the Music Conservatory of Verona. In 2015, he joined the Academy of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, where he had the opportunity to study with musicians, conductors, directors and artists on international renown. In the same year, he won two special prizes in the competition Riccardo Zandonai.

In 2016, he won the International Opera Competition Ferruccio Tagliavini in Deutschlandsberg in Austria and participated in the production of Verdi’s La Traviata at the Opera of Florence singing the role of Marchese D’Obigny. In the fall of 2016, again for the Opera of Florence, he debuted the role of Lumaca in Salieri’s La scuola de’ gelosi represented at the Teatro Salieri di Legnago, at the Teatro Pergolesi in Jesi, the Teatro Marruccini in Chieti, Teatro Ristori in Verona and the Teatro Goldoni in Florence.

For the Opera of Florence he also performed as Il Soldato in Viktor Ulmann’s Der Kaiser von Atlantis, as father in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel and as Taddeo in Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri. In February 2017, he sang as Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Royal Opera House of Muscat in Oman and as soloist in a concert conducted by Fabio Luisi at the Opera in Florence.
